Academy of Pediatrics Recommends Seizure-Causing Vaccine MMRV for Babies
MB Comment: The latest vaccine policy recommendation from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is for MMRV, a combination MMR and Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine. This recommendation directly contradicts recent safety studies that show a twofold greater risk of seizures from MMRV vs. separate MMR and Varicella vaccines. MMR by itself causes seizures (this was acknowledged in the recent IOM 'vaccine safety' report). This recommendation piles seizures on seizures.
The CDC suggests that 10% of those who have febrile seizures can develop epilepsy. Seizures are also a symptom of encephalitis, which is the classic vaccine adverse reaction (defined in the Merck Manual of Medicine). Thousands of parents report that their children descended into autism after having seizures. The symptoms of autism are the same as post-encephalitic syndrome.
This latest AAP vaccine recommendation is absolutely indefensible. It has only two benefits: 1) Combining shots for convenience and 2) Increasing Merck's vaccine revenues for MMRV. Parents should run, not walk away from pediatricians who recommend MMRV for their children. This vaccine recommendation is absolute insanity and reveals the complete disregard of the pediatrics profession for vaccine safety and the health of our children.
