New research shows that women who use contraceptives such as birth control pills experience memory changes. In particular, their ability to remember and retain details is dramatically reduced.

Chemical contraceptives suppress sex hormones such as estrogen and progesterone to prevent pregnancy. Those hormones have been linked to women's strong "left brain" memory.
