Why Do Nearly ALL Pregnant Women Have Banned Chemicals in Their Bodies?
Posted By Dr. Mercola | August 26 2011 |
A startling study has shown that 99 percent of pregnant women in the U.S. carry multiple chemicals in their bodies, some of which are substances that have been banned since the 1970s. The study marks the first time that the number of chemicals to which pregnant women are exposed has been counted. Some of the chemicals are used in common products such as non-stick cookware, processed foods and personal care products, according to a report on PreventDisease.com. Flame retardants, now banned in many states including California, and DDT, a pesticide banned in the U.S. in 1972, were also found in the study group. Bisphenol A (BPA), which has been linked to several adverse health outcomes, was found in 96 percent of the women studied.
