The Big Lie About Pertussis Outbreaks

After nearly a year of public health departments blaming unvaccinated children for the ongoing pertussis (whooping cough) outbreak in the U.S., it turns out the majority of patients who got it were fully vaccinated. The findings were announced by infectious disease specialist Dr. David Witt, who examined records of juvenile whooping cough patients over an 8-month period. He learned that 81 percent had received the full series of whooping cough vaccine.

That was a surprise, and what must be happening is that the vaccine wears off, Witt told Digital Journal. When the news came out, Reuters contacted the vaccine's manufacturer, GlaxoSmithKline, for a quote, and the company admitted they'd never studied how long it would last, Digital Journal said. In other news, Pakistan recently revealed that vaccinated children in their country were also coming down with the disease.
